We’re hiring – with mind maps
11Jun
At MindMeister we’re always looking for creative talent to join our European teams based in Munich and Vienna. Figuring that the best way to find mind mapping enthusiasts would be through, well, a mind map, we’ve just published one describing the current job openings – see below (click the logo to get to the full version).
We welcome applications from students and ex-pats (native English speakers) – part time work is not a problem – and we’re looking forward to lots of weird and wonderful application mind maps!

Does this mean that the mindmeister iphone app is still a ways away?

Should’ve expected that comment
– no in fact we’re just about to start the beta test of v1.0, expecting release in about two weeks or so. We’re just want to make sure that future releases are not as badly delayed as this one so we’re looking for help as early as possible…

Hi Guys
I just signed up again for a paid account and love the way the product is evolving. Just 2 ideas:
1. Email attachments directly to mindmeister.
2. Drag and drop attachments into mindmeister, this would be particularly great
Cheers

I love your product, I use it daily. But, on March 4th you were a couple weeks from the IPhone release as well. I’m sure I am not the only person getting a bit frustrated waiting on something that was announced to be completed 3 months ago.
Also can people signup to help you beta test it?

Just wondered when the next series of innovations will be released for Mindmeister? There is so much potential for the application:
1. Open multiple mindmaps within tabbed windows.
2. Drag and drop between mind maps ie move nodes and their attachments between maps without copying and pasting.
3. Embedded video, click and play, search and add similar to the image adding via a web search capability.
4. Icons to represent attachment types pdf. Word doc etc.
5. Auto arrange for maps, this could offer choices ranging from ‘tight’ for mind maps with all nodes close together and ‘loose’ for nodes being arranged with lots of space in between them.
6. Email to an individual mind map, with each mind map self generating it’s own email address.
7. The ability to cut and paste parts of maps from public examples.
Just a few ideas to enhance what is already a great tool.
Regards
Steve

Quick update re the iPhone app: we just sent out the beta packages to our testers (afraid that all slots have been filled a while ago). Still a few things to fix but the general release shouldn’t be too far away now. Phew.

Steve – thanks for your suggestions, got them through support as well. We’re busy working on innovations all the time, some of the things you mention are already in the making. Also some cool ideas we haven’t thought of yet, cheers!

Thanks Michael
I’m glad that you’re so receptive to new ideas. One more, Xmind has a good function that allows the embedding of Excel type spreadsheet that can be worked on/added to actually on the mind map. This is a great way to display information that is best held in an Excel type format.

Steve

Phew, that’s a tough one. Sounds like we’d have to embed Google Spreadsheets or something… I suppose XMind just embeds the Excel add-in if installed?

Hi Michael
I uploaded a screen dump of the Excel capability, it’s actually a MindManager 8 feature:
