MindMeister was featured on BBC’s technology show Click which aired several times last weekend. We noticed a huge surge in signups on usually rather quiet Saturday and Sunday and were rather chuffed when we found out the reason.
Kate Russell mentions MindMeister as the first site in her latest selection of the best sites on the World Wide Web in the Webscape section of Click. She refers to it as a “beautifully simple mind-mapping tool“, and “totally intuitive, as it has no mess or clutter from fancy frills“. See the entire piece online plus full transcript, or click below to play the video here.
I tried to catch the last airing of Webscape yesterday on BBC World but unfortunately (for us, not for American stem cell researchers) the show was interrupted before the MindMeister piece due to a breaking news announcement of President Obama. Ah well.

It’s just a matter of a few days now before we will release the all new MindMeister. We know it’s been a long time in the making and that’s why we’d like to give you a sneak peek at one of the new things now: the new History View.
More than with standard documents, the evolution of a mind map – especially a collaborative one – tells an interesting story, which deserves a proper visualization. We weren’t content with how the revision history of a mind map was displayed in MindMeister up to now, so we came up with something new, and, we hope you’ll agree, much better.
Try the short screencast below to see how this works now. And please let us know what you think.

MindMeister's History View

The lovely Molly McDonald from demogirl.com has recorded an excellent screencast about MindMeister where she talks you through the entire system, starting by building a small map and going on to advanced features such as sharing, notifications and tagging.
The screencast is four and a half minutes long and in high resolution with a voiceover by Molly. It is currently only available in Flash format (yes, there is apparently one part of MindMeister that you need Flash for
) so you will need to download the player from here if you haven’t already done so. We’ll ask demogirl if we can host a version on YouTube as well.
